Summer
As I sit and smell the air
It reminds me of summer
The breeze past my nostrils and fills my heart with joy
I can smell the green grass as it waves at my smile
I can imagine the water pouring over my flesh and soul with refreshing glee
I can see the heat vibrate off the pavement where men briefly fly with the grace of a eagle
I hear the screams of intense joy come from flavored dairy eating munchkins running after a musical box with wheels
As I close my eyes I can taste the sweetness of a delicious fruit that I spit out the seeds with great joy and delight as the water in this melon dribbles down my chin
I hear the melodies of a school of people singing something old and
the harmony of peace as I feel the grace of the gospel pour into my ears
Yeeeesssss this is summer
But summer isn't summer until
I feel the symphony of laughing adults sitting at the table, the chatter of teenagers staring at each other doing what seems to be nothing, the screams of kids playing in the water, the smell of great food in the backyard of momma's house, and my hand hitting the table saying
DOMINO
Bring on the BBQ let summer begin
