Dear Abby, :)

So what do you do when the flat iron is left on? Ladies I need your help.  The women in my house continuously leave the flat iron on. I'm married with 6 daughters of which four are teenagers.  I have been telling them to unplug it.  I have been unplugging it myself but haven't seen great results from the ladies.  So what should I do?  My little one has already been burned by it and I don't want any accidents to happen because of something that can be avoided.  Am I being to cautious?  Am I being a silly guy that doesn't know anything?

    I bet if it 'disappeared' for a bit... :) perhaps they'll see just how much they rely on it.

    Maybe you could make it a 'game'... like a treasure hunt. Leave a note where it usually is... leave a riddle.

    "I'm something you use every day. I get REAL hot, and when left on, I burn things" Then include a NASTY picture of a burn..
    You'll find me where you'll end up if YOU get burned.

    Then leave it in the first aid kit.

    When I was young, and my mom smoked cigs, I'd wake up, take a shower, and keep my hair wrapped in a towel until I left...I'd walk out the door, and then toss the towel back in.
    I used to bring my mom pics of black lungs...from ppl smoking.

I had a great day with the FAM yesterday. We relaxed, picked up a tree, saw someone steal from the store then steal a car(crazy), decorated our tree and watched a movie. Its the simple things. Except for the car thing that was just weird and crazy. Merry Christmas

Why wait

Bachelor parties as a married man can remind you of things.  In this case nothing naughty (smile).  So somewhere between the groom licking a kiwi and us men playing street fighter.  The elder statesmen of marriage spoke some wisdom to the young cats.  We talked about don't wait to teach your kids.  Why do parents teach their kid how to walk before they know how to.  Teach their kid how to share before they know how to.  Teach their kid how to be a 6 year old when the kid is 4.  Because they are excited to see their child grow.  Then the child hits 8-10 and all of the sudden the teacher is nowhere to be found.  Why do you seem to be surprised when the child wants you to teach them how to be a pre-teen or teen before they reach that age?  It's almost saying I was never a teacher why are you looking at me.  You know what gets parents, fear.  So here are some excuses parents have used.  Why would I tea...
