Notes from the message on Thurs. Passover(Easter) party

There is a lot to the story so I am going to focus on God’s main goal and who God is.

gen 3:8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”  

Obviously our Lord visited Adam a lot to ask the question “Where are you?”  Showing that God wants relationship. But because of our sin we were separated from Him.  humanity had to pay for this but how?  Jesus, and He was already going to before the foundations of the world.  

matt 22:34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[c] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

This shows how important having a genuine relationship with God is what God’s will is for us.  He also wants His kids to have great relationships with each other too.  He showed us how to love God and how to love each other then proved it by dying for sinful humanity.  And yes He knew some would still hate Him even though He saved their souls.  Yet He still did it.  Jesus is love.

Rev 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.

God loves us so much!!! He just wants us to love Him.  I love Him and because I do I follow Jesus.  Jesus has made me new because He died for me and His blood covers all of my sins.  He has made me pure, holy and righteous because of his death and resurrection.  Because of His love for us He put on flesh, He didn’t sin and He showed us how to live.  Then He took the punishment that we should have had and died for us.  But He beat death and the grave so we can have eternal life with Him.  Again the goal of God is for us to have great loving, truthful relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.  The King of kings and Lord of lords

If you want to have a relationship with Jesus just ask.  Ask Him to be Lord over your life.  Repent of your sins.  Believe He is who He says He is.  Believe that He rose from the grave.  Nobody gets to the Father unless they go through Jesus.

john 5:36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing—testify that the Father has sent me. 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, 38 nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent.39 You study[c] the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

Knowing the bible frontwards and backwards doesn’t save you or change you.  Truly loving and the person that the bible is talking about, does, and His name is Jesus!

I am with you alway (Jesus)
