Husband by Pamela Smith

Ephesians 5:25-26 msg

 

"Husband, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the the Church- a love marked by giving , not getting.  Christ's love makes the church whole.  His words evoke her beauty.  Everything he does and say is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness.  And that is how husbands ought to love their wives.  They're really doing themselves a favor-since they're already "one" in marriage."

 

10 YEARS FAITHFULLY MARRIED!!!!!!!

 

Yes I want to shout it from the rooftops! Not really sure of current stats, but I know staying married, staying faithful, being married with joy and grace is hard work and some folks just aren't up for hard work. 

 

Thinking about the love story of Dee and I just makes me smile.  Prayer works people.  When you understand the love story of Christ pursuing you and all of the good he wants to lavish on you, your standards go up, your expectations rise. Most of all when you are clothed in Christ's truth you have eyes to see the truth.  That's what I saw when I met and was courted by Mr. Smith.  That's what I saw when he was by my side when we gave birth to our girls, that is what I see when he see's our teenagers for what they will be, that is what I see every morning I wake up next to him.

 

My husband is the most optimistic person I have ever met, I myself am a worst-case scenario girl, we make a good team... In the bible verse above it says 'his words evoke beauty" that is my husband, his words evoke really entreat me to be beautiful, I really think that literally a persons words can alter others countenance. Inside and out this 10 year journey has made us reflect more the light of Christ.

 

I am insanely protective over the gift that is my husband.  To live above reproach is not our "ideal" it is the expectation. We live our marriage out by giving ,not worrying  (sometimes to a fault) about getting. We have challenges, just to be completely authentic with each other is a risk, as you grow closer and closer, more and more in love with each other, the risk of being hurt increases exponetually.  Count the costs, add it up and then full on go for it. It's working for Dee and I .

 

Respect, Love, Laughter,Passion for each other and life, Commitement, Joy.

 

Yep it's all good in the hood, can't wait to see how our story unfolds!!! Never a dull moment!!!

 

Mr. Smith you are my hero, my protector, my best everything.
